PRE-EVENT PLANNING:

From: Gerald Haughton
Date: Jun 19, 2025, 5:13 PM
Subject: 35th Annual Patriots Parade – Friday, July 4, 2025

All CKCA Members –

The 35th Annual Patriots Parade takes place in downtown Hutch on Friday, July 4, 2025. The parade begins at 10 a.m. at Avenue B and Main.

If you would like to represent the CKCA and drive your Corvette in the parade, please contact me as soon as possible; my contact information may be found at the end of this email, or in the Membership Roster on our website.

NOTE: Groups are limited to ten (10) vehicles in the parade, so available spots for our Corvettes are at a premium. If you want to participate, please let us know no later than next Friday, June 27, 2025.

We should be finished with the parade in plenty of time for those of us who are planning on attending Steve & Laurie's 4th of July BBQ in South Hutch that afternoon.

General information on the parade may be found on our Upcoming Events page, here: https://www.ckca.club/upcoming-events.html

We will contact parade participants in a follow-up email with instructions for staging for the parade.

– Gerald & Denise Haughton (via email)

All CKCA Members: As of this morning, 6/23/2025, we've only got five Corvettes signed up, counting myself and Denise, for the Patriots Day parade in downtown Hutch on July 4. We've got room for five more. If you'd like to represent our club and drive your Corvette in the parade, please reach out ASAP. Thanks.

From: Gerald Haughton
Date: Jun 27, 2025, 10:16 AM
Subject: July 4, 2025 Patriots Parade: CKCA Staging Instructions

PLEASE REPLY TO THIS EMAIL (OR CALL OR SHOOT ME A TEXT), TO LET ME KNOW YOU RECEIVED THESE INSTRUCTIONS.

PARADE STAGING INSTRUCTIONS: CKCA participants will stage with Group 3. We do not have an "assigned" position among the other parade entries who are also staging in Group 3.

Group 3 will stage along the east side of Washington St, from Avenue B south down to Avenue F.  As you arrive, please enter the staging area at Ave F and Washington, and then drive up Washington north towards Ave B and fall in line behind the last Corvette in our group.

Denise and I plan on arriving at 8 a.m., in order to position our club as close to the front of Group 3 as possible. The parade begins at 10, so please plan on arriving somewhere between 8:30 and 9:30 so we can all get properly staged in plenty of time for the start of the parade.

We'll be hanging out and "bench racing" for a while as we wait for the parade to commence, so bringing lawn chairs (and some water) might be a good idea.

If you happen to arrive to the staging area before Denise and I do, simply follow the instructions above and inform the parade workers that you're with the Central Kansas Corvette Association and that we're assigned to Group 3.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Per the organizers, parade participants may NOT throw candy (or anything else) from vehicles during the parade; please see attached letter from EAGLE Media.

Also of note, we should be done with the parade in plenty of time for those of you who are planning on attending Steve & Laurie's BBQ in South Hutch on Friday afternoon.

If you've got any questions, please reach out. See you all on the 4th!!

This is the graphic Denise and I designed for the 18" x 24" corrugated-plastic "yard" signs we had made up for the parade,
as seen in the last couple photos above, and in the videos and screengrab below - we wanted to make it easy for parade goers (and the folks in the announcing stand) to know who we were representing, without having to physically affix something to our cars.

We'll keep these in inventory for future use by the club. – GH
