Downtown Hutch Cars & Coffee at DCI Park!

DOWNTOWN HUTCH CARS & COFFEE AT DCI PARK: Jim Gruver gave a brief report on our club’s fourth “Downtown Hutch Cars & Coffee at DCI Park” event this year, held on July 6, 2024. Although the weather was superb, attendance was not, what with competition from the Veterans Benefit Car & Bike Show beginning later that morning at the Red Shed Music Venue in Hutch and, much more significantly, the annual Cars in the Park car show taking place that day in Newton. (I heard later that there were 201 vehicles in attendance at that event, many of which certainly drove over from Hutch.)

In spite of the low attendance, the vibe at DCI Park was fun and cool, especially when Scott and Tracy Patton came cruising up in an old fire truck! (Hey guys, does your fire truck have a nickname? If not, might I suggest “Torch Red”? :)

Many thanks to Steven Bernard and Laurie Bortner for bringing pastries to the event (sourced from La Poblanita Bakery at 507 N Main St in South Hutch – yum!) and who steadfastly refused to let the club reimburse them for the same. Thank guys!
