RECAP:
Despite record-breaking heat (98 degrees in March? Seriously?!?) and competing with the opening day of the NJCAA basketball tournament at the Hutchinson Sports Arena, 24 fun-lovers in 14 colorful Corvettes enjoyed fellowship and food today during the CKCA's second Drive & Dine of the season, this time to El Cerrito Restaurant in Hesston, KS.
The core group met at Atwoods/Kwik Shop at 30th & Lorraine in Hutch. We picked up special guest Jim Bontrager as we passed his farm on our way out to Buhler, and then gathered up Darwin & Nadine Henry about ten minutes later, who were waiting for us up in Inman.
We stopped for about 20 minutes at beautiful Lambert Park in Inman, which gave everyone a chance to catch up on howdy's and kick some tires. John Denney's new power-droptop C8 was a big hit, as was Jim Bontrager's gorgeous red '62 Roadster. Our new Classic White '77 Coupe made its club debut today and did great.
From Inman we zig-zagged our way over to Moundridge and headed south down Old 81 to Hesston. The amigos y amigas at El Cerrito were ready for us, and judging by all the smiles and laughter, everyone in our group had a great time.
Denise and I thank you all very much for attending today's CKCA Drive & Dine and making it so much fun. Let's do it again!
