PRE-EVENT ITINERARY:
Wayne & Marcia Strawder will lead the group to Thirsty's on June 13. We will leave from Atwoods/Kwik Shop at 30th and Lorraine in Hutch at 8:45am. We will arrive at Ellsworth's Casey's at 9:45 to 10:00 for a bathroom break and any North members can join us there.
This event will happen rain or shine.

POST-EVENT RECAP:
Although the weather forecast for June 13th was persistently grim leading up to this weekend, with the threat of severe thunderstorms and possible tornadoes throughout central Kansas, Saturday dawned sunny, clear and comfortable. (Things went straight to heck weather-wise this evening, but we were all safely home by then.)
Eight (and a half*) Corvettes and 17 dedicated CKCA members made the drive to Thirsty's Brew Pub & Grill in Hays, KS this morning. What a fun-loving bunch of Hoonigans! (Darwin, I'm looking at you... ;)
(*Our Classic White '77 Coupe is scheduled to go into the shop next week to address some issues I either can't handle or don't want to handle myself, so we took Denise's C8.5 Ford Freestyle today. Yes, the air conditioning in her car blows ice cold, thank you very much.)
Denise and I met our hosts Galen & Marilyn Seehafer up at Kanopolis Lake earlier this year to do some reconnaissance and scout out photo ops for our CKCA Drive & Dine to the Crown & Rye Restaurant in Lindsborg on April 11th. Later, over lunch in Ellsworth, they proposed a Drive & Dine to Thirsty's Brew Pub & Grill in Hays for a date to be determined in June, and we all started inking details.
It's a bit of a haul from Hutch up to Hays "just" for lunch, all the more reason to thank our diehard club members who participated today, especially considering the weather forecast leading into this weekend.
The Seehafer's were waiting for us at Thirsty's, after spending the morning selling their excellent farm-fresh produce at the Hays Farmers Market.
Lots of laughter, copious camaraderie, and fantastic food and service was the order of the day. Thank you Thirsty's, and profuse thanks to all who attended.
Special thanks to Galen & Marilyn for putting this event together, and Wayne & Marcia Strawder for leading the group up from Hutch (and for pre-running the route a couple weeks ago). The Strawders are our newly-minted Drive & Dine Coordinators, and are doing an awesome job of keeping our club busy and on the road this season!
