A record crowd enjoyed a great meal and fellowship at Saturday’s CKCA Christmas Party. Members raised $900 for the Reno County Food Bank. Bill Westfahl won the corvette quilt ‘raffle’. Special thanks to Debby Gruver for coordinating the event with The Downtown Sampler and Jim Gruver for the photos.
Remember, we don’t have a December meeting. The next CKCA meeting will be January 8, 2018 at Midway Motors.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
We had a great turnout for the Christmas Party and appreciate the hospitality shown by Eileen and the staff at the Downtown Sampler. The food and service was outstanding. We raised $600 for the Reno County Food Bank. A special thanks to Debby Gruver for her assistance in booking and coordinating the event. Due to the popularity of the Downtown Sampler and numerous December Christmas parties, Debby once again booked the Downtown Sampler for the December 2, 2017 Christmas Party.
Christmas 2015
Forty four members attended Saturday’s 2nd Annual CKCA Christmas Party. Members enjoyed a social hour from 6:00-7:00 pm; Wayne Williams gave the blessing prior to dinner… thanks Wayne! Members enjoyed a great meal followed by a delicious dessert bar. Raffle tickets were sold during the social hour and prior to the drawing; Marcia Strawder was the lucky winner of the ‘Corvette Themed’ handmade quilt. Once again CKCA members ‘stepped up’ by purchasing $500 in $10 raffle tickets and raised an additional $525 for the Reno County Food Bank. A total of $1025 (cash & checks) was delivered to the Reno County Food Bank yesterday afternoon and our generosity was greatly appreciated. The food bank director said the monies would be used to purchase staple items for those in need.
Christmas 2014
Fifty-one CKCA members enjoyed Saturday nights 1st Annual Christmas Party at the Downtown Sampler. It was a great turnout on a very busy December Saturday evening. The Downtown Sampler provided a 'Christmas decorated' venue and members enjoyed a 'social hour' followed by a delicious buffet dinner and dessert bar. We received numerous favorable comments about the food and location and decided to reserved it again for December 5, 2015.
A special thanks to Activity Coordinators Debby Gruver and Linda Barkley for organizing the Christmas party and to all CKCA members for opening up your hearts and bringing food for the Reno County Food Bank... your generosity is much appreciated.
