Leaving Hutchinson at 3:00 pm from Atwood’s/Kwik Shop at NW corner of E 30th Ave & Lorraine St. Wayne Strawder will lead the group.
We plan to be in Sylvan Grove before 5:00 pm. We will order off the menu and you can order drinks. The plan is to come up thru Ellsworth on Highway 14 to I-70 then west to exit 209 and north approx. 13 miles to Sylvan Grove.
EDIT 03/16/2025: John Thaemert has contacted me. As a bonus, after the meal he will lead us out to Wilson Lake. That is like a road course. More information at the Drive & Dine. Thanks, Galen
EDIT 03/20/2025: Additional routing information on Drive and Dine from the Strawders: We will be leaving from Atwoods at 3:00 p.m. for the drive and dine to Fly Boys at Sylvan Grove, April 12. We will cruise through Nickerson, Sterling and Lyons, then will be at Ellsworth around 4:00 p.m. and make a quick stop at Caseys, 15-20 minutes. Members from the north can join us there. Then on to I-70 to exit 209 to Sylvan Grove. We should be at Fly Boys around 5 o'clock.

NOTE - CHANGE OF PLANS, AS OF MARCH 15, 2025: Due to park construction, the park will be closed on the day we would be there. So we will now leave on Wednesday May 7th and be at Little Big Horn on Friday May 9th, and be home on Sunday May 11th. I have notified everyone who is going.
Darwin & Nadine
We will meet on Wednesday, May 7th, 2025 at 8:30 AM at the McPherson rest area. Leave at 8:45 AM. We will have lunch at York, Nebraska at The Kitchen restaurant. We will spend the night in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. In the evening, we will go to the falls and have supper at a sandwich place there. You can spend as much time or as little time as you like there and go back to the motel when you like on your own.
On Thursday I think we will stop at Wall Drug for lunch. We will spend the night in Broadus, Montana. Not sure where we will have supper at yet but it will be in Broadus. Now the motel in Broadus does not serve breakfast; they do have coffee. There is a food market there. You need to go there and get something for breakfast and also get something for lunch for Friday.
At lunch time we will be at the Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument; there is no food there or close by. Your National Park pass will get you into the park. We will spend Friday night in Casper, Wyoming. Again not sure where we will have supper.
Saturday we will stop at Fort Laramie; it is free. Again we will need to get something for lunch because we will eat there (Fort Laramie). We will spend the night in Ogallala, Nebraska. Not sure where we will have supper.
On Sunday we will stop at the Bailey Yard in North Platte, Nebraska and watch the trains (admission is $10.00 for seniors). We will stop at a Runza somewhere for lunch on our way home.
This is an outline of our trip. I will make our supper plans this winter and give you more information in March 2025.

Family friendly, free admission! Calling all gear heads and auto buffs to the Smoky Valley Classic Car Show, Saturday, August 2, 2025! There will be over 100 classic automobiles in the shade-filled Swensson Park, with vendors available.
Awards are given out to participants including: Best Club Participation for the largest paid registration from a single Club and the Long-Haul Award for the furthest distance traveled by the car. Popular awards are Police Chief’s Choice and Sheriff’s Choice for the cars most likely to be stopped by those agencies, and the Kansas Highway Patrol award for the car most likely to be stopped for no reason at all!
Registration begins at 8:00 am, judging begins at 10:00 am, and awards will be given out at 3:00 pm. Dash plaques will be given to the first 125 entries.
Enjoy a picnic in the park, choosing from a variety of food vendors, or visit quaint and historic downtown Lindsborg just two blocks away. Experience the small town charm of Little Sweden, USA. Amenities include contemporary shopping, unique art galleries, running and bike trails and fun dining. There is something for everyone. Awards are given out to participants including: Best Club Participation for the largest paid registration from a single Club and the Long-Haul Award for the furthest distance traveled by the car. Popular awards are Police Chief’s Choice and Sheriff’s Choice for the cars most likely to be stopped by those agencies, and the Kansas Highway Patrol award for the car most likely to be stopped for no reason at all!
Registration begins at 8:00 am, judging begins at 10:00 am, and awards will be given out at 3:00 pm. Dash plaques will be given to the first 125 entries.
Enjoy a picnic in the park, choosing from a variety of food vendors, or visit quaint and historic downtown Lindsborg just two blocks away. Experience the small town charm of Little Sweden, USA. Amenities include contemporary shopping, unique art galleries, running and bike trails and fun dining. There is something for everyone. Lodging options include a Scandinavian inn, cozy B&B, upscale vacation rentals and hotels.
