This event is one of Goddard's largest annual events, featuring 200+ vehicles and thousands of spectators. All proceeds benefit the Goddard Lions Club, a nonprofit that has served Goddard for almost 70 years, supporting causes including Hunger, Vision, Environment, Diabetes, Education, and our signature project annually - Goddard Mitten Tree, providing food and Christmas gifts to 170 families and 420 children last year.

Thank you for a little extra time to think through this day - I think I've come up with some ways we can make it something really special.
Here's what I'm thinking for April 11:
I'm calling the event "Cool Cars on Main: Coffee & Community," building on what you envisioned — a gathering that pulls in car lovers from Lyons, Hutchinson, McPherson, and beyond. We'll be spreading the word through our social channels and email list.
When your group rolls in at 10 a.m., here's what you'll find waiting:
• Fresh-brewed coffee, hot tea, and energy drinks
• Breakfast pizza, doughnuts, and cookies
• A road trip goodie bag for every CKCA member who signs up through the club ahead of the event. To ensure we have enough for everyone, please provide a sign-up count closer to the day.
On the marketing side, we're putting together:
• A store flyer to post at The Market
• A digital event flyer you can share on your club's channels
• A Facebook event page to make it easy to spread the word and track interest
• A blog post on our Basket & Banter blog
• An email to our subscriber list
• A Rice County scenic drive handout — a little something to tuck in the goodie bags so your members have a great route for future driving adventures :)
We are so looking forward to this. Little River doesn't get enough of these kinds of mornings, and you've given us a great reason to make one happen.

We will meet on Monday, May 4th, 2026 at the Burger King on I-135 at exit #28 in Newton, KS at 9:00AM. We will leave at 9:15AM. We will stop in Fredonia, KS at the Kitchen Table Restaurant for lunch. We will go to the Dalton Defenders Museum ($7.00 for seniors). Then we are off to Siloam Springs, Arkansas where we will stay for 4 nights at the Hampton Inn. We will have pizza from Casey's that evening at the motel. If you want anything to drink that you can not get at the convenience store, bring it with you.
On Tuesday we will drive curvy and scenic roads. On Wednesday we will go to the Walmart Museum (free) in Bentonville, Arkansas. Eat at the Spark Cafe there and then we will go to the Crystal Bridges Museum (free) in Bentonville, Arkansas. The rest of the day is yours to do as you please. There are other museums in Bentonville or you may want to go to the casino in W Siloam Springs, Oklahoma.
On Thursday we will drive more curvy and scenic roads. Each evening we will eat at a different restaurant in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. On Tuesday and Thursday we will have lunch at a fast food place on our drive.
On Friday on our way home we will stop in Arkansas City, Kansas at a restaurant for lunch. Go to the Cherokee Strip Landrush Museum (donation) there in Arkansas City, KS. We might want to stop in Newton at Braum's for ice cream before we go our separate ways home.
I have a block on 10 two-queen bedrooms and 2 king bedrooms in Siloam Springs, Arkansas at the Hampton Inn, at $129.00 per night until April 15, 2026. Rooms are under CKCA but use the group code CHHCKC for May 4th, 5th, 6th, & 7th, check out on April 8, 2026. You can call at 479-215-1000 or use the link below to make your reservation.

Calling all gear heads and auto buffs to the Smoky Valley Classic Car Show, Saturday, August 1, 2026! There will be over 100 additional classic automobiles in the shade-filled Swensson Park with vendors available.
Awards are given out to participants including: Best Club Participation for the largest paid registration from a single Club and the Long-Haul Award for the furthest distance traveled by the car. Popular awards are Police Chief’s Choice and Sheriff’s Choice for the cars most likely to be stopped by those agencies, and the Kansas Highway Patrol award for the car most likely to be stopped for no reason at all!
Registration begins at 8:00am, judging begins at 10:00am, and awards will be given out at 3:00pm. Dash plaques will be given to the first 125 entries.

The Great Valley Center Main Street Car Show celebrates 20 years with a huge celebration of our nations' 250-year Anniversary (1776-2026)! Our show date falls on another memorable event in our history: 9/11, and we will commemorate it with a special remembrance during the show.
As usual, our highly respected Judging Crew will be on duty for rods, customs, trucks, specialty cars and elegant "Survivors."
There are Door Prizes, a "Poker Walk", food and a special "Kidz Zone." All entries include an all beef frank meal! Come enjoy the show and specially lighted downtown Valley Center!
Hours: 4 PM - 9 PM - Registration: 3pm - 6:30pm
Rain date Sunday September 13th, 2026 2pm - 5pm
