CKCA Road Trip Attendees: Marcia and Wayne Strawder, John Denney, Karen Ukens and Bobby Krause, Susan and Randy Puls, Tom Klassen, Gary Essells, Steve Bernard and Laurie Bortner, Ray and Audrey Wright, and Darwin and Nadine Henry.
Itinerary:
Day 1 – May 2nd, 2022: Visited the Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum in Ashland, Nebraska
Day 2 – May 3rd, 2022: Had lunch at the Machine Shed in Des Moines, Iowa
Day 3 – May 4th, 2022: Visited Antique Archaeology in Le Claire, Iowa (hub for the 'American Pickers' show on the History Channel); toured the Iowa 80 Trucking Museum in Walcott, Iowa
Day 4 – May 5th, 2022: Stopped in Clear Lake, Iowa at the Surf Ballroom
Day 5 – May 6th, 2022: Drove back to Kansas
We stayed at Zuber's Homestead Hotel in Homestead, Iowa on days two and three. The breakfast meals were great and enjoyed by everyone.
There were nine Corvettes on this trip.
