Downtown Hutch Cars & Coffee at DCI Park!
• May 4th, 2024 •

For the second month in a row, the Central Kansas Corvette Association's "Downtown Hutch Cars & Coffee at DCI Park" event, this time held on May 4th, 2024, was wild and windy. And c-c-cold!

It stormed all night, and only finally stopped raining about 8 a.m. By and by the sun emerged and it didn't take too long for Hutch's streets to dry out, but the overnight storms also ushered in some cold air, with temps down into the high 40's/low 50's. This, combined with a stiff wind out of the north (which basically turned downtown Main Street into the world's longest wind tunnel), produced some impressive wind chill factors.

Turnout for our event was overall pretty light as a result, but the diehards that showed up had a great time nonetheless, with smiles and laughter in abundance.

Thanks to everyone who came out, despite the brisk conditions, and thanks again to Allen Samuels Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram for sponsoring our event*, and the ever-cheerful Cris Schul from Allen Samuels for bringing a brand-new Chrysler 300 to display (which also provided great shelter for several of our members from the cold, biting wind!)

Also, special thanks again to Metro to Go
for supplying all the hot, hot, hot coffee!

Kudos to Jim Gruver, Steve Nichols and the rest of the CKCA "Cars & Coffee" gang for putting this event together. Next month let's order up some warmer temps and no wind!

Henry and the Vette Cart. Henry had a lopey idle and a nasty exhaust bark. Delicious.

Both cars garnered a ton of attention, rightly so.
